The below letter which was sent certified, return receipt requested, to the HOA Board was never responded to. As you can see, this is the second request as demanded by law. It is interesting that they are reactive in interdicting homeowners for minor infractions. But when legitimate requests are made they feign mute and ignorant. This speaks for itself. An audit is seriously overdue.

Vide the Texas Residential Property Owners Protection Act Chapter 209, Section 209.005, Vernon’s Texas Civil Statutes Chapter 9, Article 1396-2.23 and Laurel Oaks Homeowners Association Bylaws Article X; I hereby request to view the 2007-audited financial report and the approved budget for the fiscal year 2007 within business hours at your convenience.

I too have been waiting to hear back from the Board of Director regarding my request to review the HOA financials. An audit was the reason why the financials were not available for review last year. I am hopeful more of us will realize that the wiool is being pulled over our heads.

Greetings to you all. I'd like to take this opportunity to request access to the HOA books and records pursuant to Artcle X of the HOA by-laws. I'd like to review details of HOA expenditure for the past couple of years to better understand how HOA dues are being put to use.
During last year's annual HOA meeting President Hart advised that an audit of fiscal year 2008 was in progress. As a follow-up to this I would also like to request access to the resulting audit report.
I'm willing to work around your schedule to get this accomplished and appreciate your help in provideing the requested access.
