Self managed vs Third party management company?
Do we need a management company or would we be better off managing the day to day activities of our HOA ourselves as Homeowners? What are the pros and cons? Please post your opinions and comments.

Our community possibly has more than 1000 professionals and we can certainly do better that the curent management team has been doing. Transparency and accountability are currently lacking and the current board of directors is very dismissive when dealing with homeowners. It's time for a change. We should transition to managing day to day operations ourselves.
Self management offers us many benefits including - Accessibility and direct access to decision makers. - Homeowner management have added incentive to cut costs - Our fate is not tied to that of a management company. - Greater leeway on what we can spend our dues on instead of being tied to a contract. - Lower legal fees
ps. could y'all set up a meeting to discuss with homeowners? - Charlie

Self management is good and I think with the internet we can not only manage but everyone can track and see what has been done.
